The Palm Coast Home Builders’ Guide to Holiday Family Fun

With a chill in the air and holiday spirit on the rise, it’s clear that Christmas is settling into local area homes in Ormond Beach and Palm Coast! While this winter season might prove to be a bit different from previous years, there’s no reason there should be any less Christmas magic to share with your loved ones. If you’re looking for ways to spark that Christmas-y feeling, here’s a few options for local family holiday fun!

Enjoy the Rotary Club of Flagler County's Fantasy Lights

This year, get ready for plenty of seasonal fun and beautiful light displays in Palm Coast’s Central Park. Through Wednesday, December 30th from 6:30 to 9 p.m., visitors are invited to take a walking tour through the park to admire 53 different lighted and animated displays, as well as to listen to holiday music throughout the park to get in the holiday spirit. The event is free – but organizers encourage you to get into the giving spirit of the season through donating and helping to support local charities.

Participate in Palm Coast’s Holiday Light Fight

Ready to take your house to the next level of holiday magic? Owners of new homes in Palm Coast take note: if you love decorating and Christmas lights, Palm Coast invites your household to participate in Holiday Light Fight – a local Christmas decorating competition. Judging occurs on December 19th, with awards for Best in Show, Brightest House, Best Theme and Most Interesting Decoration. If you’ve missed the deadline, don’t fear! Instead, opt to explore the beautiful displays around town as you follow maps provided by Palm Coast Parks & Recreation as well as the City’s GIS division – as well as finding lawn signs to check out the winners for each category.

Tour the Casements

This year’s annual Casements Christmas Gala in Ormond Beach is unfortunately cancelled – but that doesn’t mean the magic is gone! You can pay a visit to john D. Rockefeller’s former winter home throughout the month of December to take a self-guided tour of the seasonally-decorated house and to see its new, 15-foot Christmas tree. The Casements is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, as well as 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.

Take a Holiday Stroll in Rockefeller Gardens

When you’ve finished exploring the Casements, make your way to the adjacent Rockefeller Gardens for even more holiday fun! Here, you can enjoy a fun-filled Holiday Story Stroll – simply follow the pages around the gardens to read a classic holiday story, “The Twelve Days of Christmas.” This event runs through December 28th and is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for a fun and unique way to enjoy the park.

These ideas only scratch the surface of the many ways to find Christmas magic in and around Palm Coast and Ormond Beach – as well as the sort of seasonal fun you can find in the local area year-round!
