4 Reasons We’re Thankful for Ormond Beach New Homes

It’s once again that time of the year where we take time to reflect on all the things for which we’re most thankful. To start, that might be the delicious Thanksgiving dinner you’re planning. Or, it might be the opportunity to spend time with family and loved ones – near or far. But for us at Vanacore Homes, one thing that makes the top of our list is the opportunity to build homes in incredibly beautiful Floridian communities. Ormond Beach is one location where we love crafting new homes – and there’s many reasons why we think it’s such a great place to live. Read on to discover a few reasons why we’re thankful for Ormond Beach – and why we think it’s time for you to consider it as one of the best locations for your new homes.

Beautiful Beaches

Living in homes in Ormond Beach near the Florida coast means easy access to stunning beaches and beautiful ocean views – any time you’d like! Whether you’re looking to enjoy some fresh air on a lovely morning walk or to spend a day by the sea with the whole family, there’s many different ways to take advantage of living by the water. If you love boating, surfing, paddleboarding, or something else entirely, there’s always plenty of opportunities for on-the-water fun in Ormond Beach. Living in the area also bring plenty of opportunities to see unique wildlife – such as sea turtles that nest on the beach, laying eggs between May and October. Locals and visitors are encouraged to do their best to avoid disturbing the turtles and their nests – as well as avoiding shining bright lights at nighttime so as not to confuse hatchlings trying to find their way to the ocean!

Appreciation of the Arts

If you consider yourself a lover of the arts, Ormond Beach is the perfect place for you to call home. The area actively works to promote arts and culture with art walks between local galleries, outdoor markets, festivals, and many other events throughout the year. One important local gem is the Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens – an art museum with a rotating array of exhibits as well as beautifully-kept gardens with sculptural tributes to veterans. The museum is currently undergoing renovations to add more exhibition space and classrooms for art workshops in the coming year. The local downtown area is also making an effort to begin introducing murals to local buildings – such as one near Ormond Garage (a local brewery and restaurant) that depicts the area’s racing history.

Learning Local History

Ormond Beach is known as the “Birthplace of Speed.” Here, automobile enthusiasts came to race and set speed records in tournaments on the hard-packed sand as early as 1903. The original Ormond Garage, built in 1904, accommodated race cars, drivers, and mechanics, but sadly burned in 1976. Today, a small replica Ormond Garage stands at Ormond Beach’s Birthplace of Speed Park, and the Ormond Garage brewery also honors local racing history. You can also get in the spirit during the town’s yearly Gaslight Parade, in which antique cars and vehicles from all eras of the past participate.
